Bangladesh Society for Liver Cancer Treatment and Research (BSLCTR) is anational organizationdevoted toLiver Cancer treatment and research. It is a multidisciplinaryplatform.

Our aim is to combinehepatologists, medical and surgical oncologists and interventional radiologist under same umbrella to work out best treatment options and research regarding management of liver cancer of international standard at national level.

Effective multidisciplinary liver cancer management promote bringing together clinicians, scientists, and allied professionals from related fieldsin diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and research activities.

BSLCTR 2022is an annual event, aims at delivering scientific education and helping progress BSLCTR’s mission to advance research in pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of liver cancer. It will be an interactive session.

This annual event consists of 1 day conference focusing on this specific topic and is lectured by world renowned scientists of related field.

Liver cancer is tumorous growth of liver cells. Common etiology in Bangladesh is hepatitis B, hepatitis C and Fatty liver. Tumorous growth of liver cells affects normal function of liver, so the patient has abdominal pain, swelling of abdomen, jaundice.

 Briefly, there are two main types of liver cancer: Primary liver cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma), which appear from the cells that are normally located in the liver, and secondary liver cancer (also known as metastases) arising from organs outside the liver.

 Primary liver cancer is a very common among cancers worldwide. It ranks sixth among cancers. It is third among cancers in men in Bangladesh.
